And the UUC is good and even more expensive.
I just said B&M because I thought you were trying to do everything on a limited budget. I used a UUC w/bushings one time and it felt stock compared to my B&M. (My throw is shorter and more notchy-feeling)
No experience here with the Katech, but I've heard good things.

I enjoy mine. I've only felt the stocker and the katech so I can't compare. I'm happy with my purchase but I'd probably be happy with the b & m too. Supposedly the katech is a little quiter but again, I have no idea.
CTS 510: UUC is out of my range.

+1 for atlantic speed. Just installed mine from them a couple weeks ago. With the slop you described you might want to get the bushings also. I didn't need them so didn't order any. The bushings can be had at Lindsay Cadillac.
Also a note for install given by OHSIXCTSV & CTSV 510, "remember to change steps "5" (5/16 bit) & "19"(reverse bolt/nut)....thank CTSV 510 for the tidbit.
also mark all ur insulation packing with frnt rear arrows...
u might remember ...but better to be sure. now go install that thing, and get a friend to help tighten hex bolts (from kit)...would be a plus."
