Default LS Dragsters?????

Has anyone on here seen one or know of someone building one that has some more specs and info??? There is only 2 videos on YouTube of a LS Dragster (rail car) and its a front mounted engine. The thought of building a rear mounted engine rail car has crossed my mind a time or two and just wondering if it would be worth it??

I'm seriously considering it as we speak for bracket racing. Seems like it would be a fairly inexpensive way to go and should be easy to get 5.70 to 6.20 in a 1650lb dragster. Easy on parts as well.

That's exactly what I'm thinking I already have the engine and transmission and a guy in New Mexico had a dragster for sale for $5000 rear end and radiator and all just have to mod motor plates and put in the 6010 and engine/Trans combo and go but I am hesitant cause no one I have heard of is doing it. Thought there might be a reason why it's not popular yet??

Worst thing about them that I have heard is getting a motor plate for the front of the LS engine. Apparently no one is making them yet like they are the SBC/BBC stuff.

I say go for it and have a blast. If I had one to start with that I could fit into, I would get one and build it. But they don't make these things for us old fat guys!! Mine would have to just pop up like an RX7 reverse opening hood. That way I have plenty of room for crawling my blubber *** out.

Plenty of ppl make a motor plate for them. That's no issue.

A few years back one of the technical schools had a fuel injected LS7 equipped rear dragster they were displaying in their PRI booth. I don't remember exactly what they said that it ran but it was fast. You would have to figure that the engine setup would be pretty maintenance free compared to other traditional engine combination used in dragsters and it would be very different from the norm.

I think it would be great because so many companies are making so many different things for them now like they have for the sbc/bbc stuff. Biggest thing is the LS engines just make more efficient power. And most of the stuff is not anywhere near as expensive as the BBC/BBF stuff that most guys run, and it isn't anywhere near the cost of those retards running the mopar hemi powered stuff. That stuff is just insanely high in price..

Well he already sold it but the next time I see one come up in as good as shape as this I'm gonna jump on it. I think it's gonna be a super cheap way to fast and stay consistent.

There was an LS dragster at the NHRA Division 6 finals in Spokane last year. IIRC, it was pretty much a typical heads/cam LS1 with a carb that went in the bottom 8's. Similar to what most H/C cars have.

The pictured one is cool. The long ones are to hard to turn around on the back roads around here.
