What made the vibration? Were you using a flat flexplate with factory adapter. A torque converter with a LS1 nose on it or a hughes type adapter? Did the vibration come from something coming apart inside the trans or....?

You run a traditional converter with no crank snout support?

I had ptc build a converter with a ls style bolt pattern and machined snout to adapt to my th400.

It can have the correct bolt pattern, and the right CONVERTER snout, but does the ENGINE side of the converter FULLY insert into the back of the crank. If not than your converter snout on the engine side is not being supported by the crank and will cause an issue like this.
