Default Question for Nitrous E85 Carb guys

Question for the E85 carb guys on bottle...

Im running a forged ls1 383, 12:1 CR, Ported/Milled 243s, custom grind, super vic, Mark Sullens E85 850 carb. It will be on 2 stages, 250 on fogger and 100 on plate.
My question is about timing.

Right now im running 36* locked out and the car works good. Best time right now is a 11.05 n/a with fuel and trans issues. Just rebuilt my trans and im going back for testing this weekend. People are telling me im running too much timing. Im going to pull the plugs after a pass and check but what are you guys running for timing n/a and on bottle?

I was told not to pull any timing at all because of the way e85 burns, i trust the guy, it just sounds scary. i was thinking about pulling timing, testing it, reading the plugs and add timing back in as i go.

what are your thoughts on not pulling timing on bottle and hows your experience with it?
Right now n/a I'm running NGK R5671A-7 plugs gapped to 32.

I would always pull timing and add back in as I could....but was running pump gas. (93)

I would play it safe myself

Do you have a hydraulic cam? And if you do. Did Mark say anything about your supervictor?

That's weird. We have a 408 that's 14.5:1 and he told me. That with the hydraulic cam that we would need to have either more cubic inches or, spin it faster to get the super Victor to perform right. We had a super Victor with a 2 inch Wilson 4 hole spacer. He told me to get rid of the super Victor and the spacer and go to the Victor junior. He said that you need to create velocity not volume. Which totally sucked, because we had 2 fogger kits on it. So that all had to be transfered. We kept the supervic so when we go solid. We will be able to spin it way faster. And put the supervic back on. Kind of confused on why he would tell me that and not say anything to you. He was very adamant about it too.

I hear ya. It sucked. Could not have been more disappointed. Very interested in what he tells you. Almost didn't go E85 because of it. But it does run very good. Did exactly what he told me. He definitely knows his stuff.

Funny he told me the same thing, not to pull any timing. I don't have enough ***** to try it.

He told you the story about the big block Ford that was n the 3s not pulling any timing.?

This pass was made this past weekend. Cut a 10.80 with a 1.5 60'. I started losing power on top end. not sure what it is but it went lean.

6.0 rectangle heads, 11.9:1, 236/246 615/615 110lsa, e85 custom 850 holley. 26deg locked out, ran 10.00@135.5 mph

36 degs is a lot.

Testing on the dyno, could add more timing and make a fractionbmore torque, but dialled it back to where it was happy. For the record ran 105/95 jets

yea I keep hearing that from people. im going to go back to the track and pull a little timing. I was told to stop adding timing when my trap stops increasing.

I don't have much experience with LS (yet), but I've eaten up my sbc a couple times with run a hot plug and alot of timing E85 tuning logic. Now, I run mine shy on timing and with a cold plug. It's easier to add in timing and swap plugs than to change pistons, I've done it.

What's the jet spreads on the kits? without that, trying to figure out a baseline timing isnt very accurate.
