ls1 removal from top (4th gen)
well this is a quick few shots for the guys that want to pull there motors but dont know how it would be best to do it.
i decided to pull my motor out the top of my 98z and ill tell ya what it was soooo easy. just drop the trans and pull the connctors off the engine. you dont even have to take the ac apart.
but i did leave the balancer on the front of the motor (if it was off it would of came out no problem. but with some moving around i got the motor out all by myself. didnt even have to take the hood off!

I just pulled the motor and trans together out of my 2000 Z...without pulling the intake. Tight fit, but it came out. Had to pull the frame mounts to get it out (still had exhaust manifolds on it) and 'help' the balancer over the core support but it came out.
