Looks like you're moving pretty fast! Did you use 4th gen pedals?

i wish it would roll along a little faster, sometimes its an uphill battle, but i should hopefully have it done in about a 1-1.5 months. with 3 kids, sometimes its tough to find the time, and family comes first, always!

no i went with 3rd gen pedals. i didn't want to deal with any flex issues in the firewall. and they are a direct fit of course. i would recommend going this route...i'm excited to bang some gears with the hurst billet/plus!

the hurst billet is an awesome shifter, i wish i had bought mine sooner!

hopefully someday my 87 can get fuel injection, let alone an lsx swap...

skip the fuel injection and go LSX....you know that's the answer!

installed the fuel tank, made most of the fuel line, just have to put the engine in to figure out the length of the line to the fuel rail.

worked on the "hotwire kit" from racetronix. need to get it zip stripped up.

got the lifters, lifter buckets, and heads installed. should have just went with the ARP stud kit. live and learn i guess.

broke a rocker bolt, but was able to get it out...and did some checking on pushrod length, still undecided if i need to go up to 7.425's.

ordered some rebuilt bosch white injectors from the supercharged buicks...flow 41.5@ 58psi.

still need to get the computer sent off for a base tune.

made some good progress on the engine this weekend. installed the new trick flow 7.425" pushrods.

put in the knock sensors and finished up as much of the top end as i could, not sure on the intake yet, i may wait until after i get the engine put in.

the ebay engine mount plates required a small amount of grinding to clear one of the threaded bosses on the block. my sbc mounts also had a an area pressed out that required some grinding and then a few good whacks from a bfh. pictures below.

i'm near the end and it has given me a good boost to finish this project. just need to gather up some time!

didn't get much this weekend. i was all amped up to do some work, and then lost all motivation for whatever reason. i did get my new sc buick injectors installed, power steering pump installed, and the shift boot put on my trim plate. all intentions were pointed towards reinstalling the rear end, but i only got as far as hanging the new shocks.

Nothing like a good build thread, nice work. When are you hoping to have it on the road?

soon...haha

doesn't need much to finish. hopefully in a couple of weeks...i could probably have it running in a day or two, but don't have the time to dedicate to it right now...and still trying to decide on a set of headers(options are pretty limited for this build).

thanks for the compliment!

more good stuff in the mail/fedex today. my aeroforce interceptor gauge came in, umi subframe connectors, and my filler panel to close up the spot where the tpi air filters went.

made some progress this weekend: got the rearend put back in, the right axle seal is leaking, but i'm planning to do an 8.8 anyways; tried to make a 4th gen washer bottle work, but my front end has been hit and has a bow in it that won't allow it to work(it will be for sale in the classifieds); installed my harness, and took care of the wiring necessary for the neutral safety switch and the reverse lights.

messed around with the old computer bracket but didn't come up with anything i liked, i"ll get some sheet metal tomorrow and make something happen, maybe.

i made a trip to kc and picked up a 4" aluminum driveshaft with a spicer yoke and u-joints. also scored a flowmaster 3" intermediate with over axle pipe for $50.

my exhaust is in route: husler mid-length headers, hooker aerochamber, flowmaster merge, 3" electric cutout, and some other necessary evils for the build. i've got a surprise finish for this exhaust, a nice little custom touch that should compliment the tail end well(decided against the cme tips)......

need to get the engine and tranny in and cut the hole for the shifter. still lacking intake bolts(mine are lost in the mail, and the dude i bought them from doesn't answer my messages), flywheel bolts, alternator bolts, and some more ambition.

made some serious progress this weekend:

installed the clutch and pressure plate, bolted the engine and tranny together, put the engine/tranny in the car, finished up the fuel line, cut shifter hole, filled the tranny, installed the new Hurst shifter, put in the aluminum driveshaft, installed the headers, and had a beer.

the Hedman Husler mid-lengths went in great. driverside from the bottom and passenger side from the top. no serious clearance issues. i had to adjust some brake lines on the driver side, and will have to do some clearancing on the passenger side collector clamp. overall, i'm very pleased with them, there is about 3/16 of clearance between the passenger side frame rail and header, but i don't think there will be any issues. not sure how they would fit with a 4L60E.

getting closer, i'm holding off on buying coolant until i get everything checked over twice...that way i don't start it too early.
