I have a 2000ss camaro with a LS3 swap. Relocated the battery to the back & now it takes a while to start. I think a ground is missing or not right. How should everything be run?

I've tried a search. Is there a diagram on how to wire and run it correctly!

basically relocating a battery is the same in a car no matter where you put it.
it needs a good ground and a good size cable to the ground and going to power.

check all connections , then check your battery if its not reading atleast 12.5 then thats part of your problem

The battery was the first thing I checked. But there is something different about routing the cables when relocating the battery. I've read it on here before but can't find it on the search.

I ran two 4 guage from trunk to engine ,one positive and one ground direct to block!

Slow cranking ???? What size are your battery cables ?

Longer amp draw from battery to starter requires bigger cable.

My wires are 00 (double ought) sized. Work just fine with an LS3. Even with the negative cable only being a foot long and going straight to the frame.

00 here also (welding lead)....and cranks just like it did before the re-location.... ground in trunk and motor is grounded to sub-frame (with weld-in connectors)

Likely the OP didn't use welding cable and he is getting too much resistance front to back.

I have heard of it working with No 4 cable, but not reliably.

Remember when Lingenfelter built that car and took it to a magazine shootout and lost the spark at speed on a road course and smacked the wall?

Jason finally chased that down to a too small positive cable to the relocated battery as I recall.
