Talking My 2002 z28

What's up guys I just registered to ls1tech. I've been looking around and MAN are there so many cool cars in here!

I picked up my first fbody, a 2002 z28 back in august after months of searching for a reasonably priced nice 6 speed around so cal. It's really the first car I buy myself and will be looking to build, so there'll be a ton of lessons coming my way.
I love love the car and can't see myself driving anything else. Can't say it'll keep me out of trouble though since I got a speeding ticket on PCH the day I picked it up

Anywho, so far I've only put in an ls7 clutch/flywheel and a Hurst shift ****- which I think looks pretty rad.

The plan was to start working with the suspension first, but, with the cats going bad after a few trips to the canyons I will pick up some pacesetter LTs and some TSP true duals. So damn excited to see how it pulls and sounds with this new setup in a month or so.

Gotta say I'm pretty lucky to have a brother that works in a shop and knows a lot more than me because I'd probably be lost.

Here are some dealer pictures:

Maybe one of my favorite pictures of her

Well I've waited an entire week for this day.
I ordered a set of TSP 1 3/4" long tubes and TSP True duals almost two weeks ago and received them last Friday. I'm still surprised they arrived 3 days after being shipped 3 states away here in Cali!

Anywho, my brother and I decided to do the install tonight which also included changing the spark plugs and wires, which by the way are a beotch, changing the gear oil, changing the pcv valve and of course AIR delete.

Unfortunately, after battling it out on the driver side trying to put the header in, which I'm now reading on other reviews is the more challenging side to say the least, we decided to call it a night. All we got done was remove the coil packs and exhaust manifolds back.

We concluded we'll definitely have to get some taller jack stands and move the motor mount in order for the header to fit through.

Anywho, I was really excited to take the car out for a drive tomorrow morning but looks like it'll have to wait for Monday. Now I know why I was wished good luck on the install lol

More updates and pictures tomorrow!

So i took the car to the drag strip today for the first time. I think it's safe to say it'll be my worst run lol

Right after the burnout a misfire occurred. I seriously thought it was something with the drivetrain because the shifter felt very shaky and the whole car vibrated like never before. Even then I still ran it hard as I could (very, very stupid of me)
My brother and I decided to call it a night on the first and only run thinking I broke something. Luckily though, on the way out I asked one of the guys hanging out for his advice and he suggested I'd broken a lifter. We popped the hood and it turned out one of the spark plug wires had actually just come off loose.
As soon as we put it back in it was back to normal!

So I took the car to get it tuned today. She put out more than I expected at 340hp and 361 tq.

Strapped!

I was actually expecting it put out somewhere like 32x hp and 34x tq so all in all it was pretty good!
