Unfortunately the market is a little limited for the 3800, don't let that discourage you though. There is a good repository of information on camarov6.com and you should be able to find a lot of parts used on ebay or new from a few of the vendors on here (admittedly I don't know which ones anymore).

Keep in mind almost everything but engine and transmission parts are interchangeable with your car. What are you goals and why haven't you posted any pictures?!

That's a little broad. Do you want to drag it, auto-x it or just cruise it? You won't see too many power increases, but you can do headers, exhaust and a lid. The 3800 can be tuned with hptuners. Is it an auto or a stick?

u should just save your money and put a ls in it, wish I did
but if you still want to do the 3800 pm me
They're not a sponsor so I shouldn’t post it
they mainly do FWD but its still a 3800.

it is sometimes disheartening to spend oodles of money for FI just to have the power of a lightly modded LS.

Magnaflow is the defacto cat-back for those basically it doesn't sound like a weed whacker. I ran pacesetters and a magnaflow on my 3800. It wakes up the engine a bit, but if I remember correctly that won't even break 14's in the quarter.

That all depends on what you want. An iron block lq9 or a 5.3 can be had at your local junkyard for probably not too much. If you want an aluminum ls1/2/3 I'd say watch the classifieds and your local craigslist for a pull out. Swapping into the 96 might be more trouble than it's worth without a donor car though.
