2000 Camaro SS Build Thread SLP # 1738 (pic heavy)
Hello to all. I just purchased this in the last month, and wanted to start a thread to document it.
The car has just over 12,000 miles and still has the new car smell. For now at least, I will just be doing things that can be reversed. When I got it, the only thing not stock was white gauge faces.
Let's start with pics from the seller. This is exactly how it showed up.

The car looks exceptionally nice, very well cared for, and is my favorite color. Great purchase with such low mileage!

Thanks guys! Now I get to mess it up!
J/K, like I said, at least for now, everything I do will be reversible, and all the original parts will be stored.
Before I even got the car, my wheels and tires from Tire Rack came in...
17 x 9 and 17 x 10.5 Torq Thrust M's wrapped in 275 40ZR-17 Sumitomo HTR Z, and 315 35ZR-17s for the back.
So the original Wheels/Tires will be stored with just 12000 miles on them. They actually look good, no dry rot or anything.
(Not sure if I will be able to post more than one post at a time until I get more posts on here, but hopefully by the weekend I will be caught up with where I am right now.)

Nice wheel choice.
Other than the hood and spoiler, it's like looking at pictures of my own '98. They look so nice when they're in such factory fresh shape, especially with a nicely detailed engine bay.

Now it was time to start doing a few things to make it my own.
I bought Silver Non-Reflective Vinyl 'Camaro' stickers for the front grill, and a few emblems from EmblemPro...
Rear Bumper Lettering Composite Colored Trim - Red with Onyx Center
LS1 Emblems for the Hood
SS Nose Emblem
New View of the front

Thanks!
Next I wanted to put some vinyl stripes on it. I had looked at a lot of pictures of different cars and finally came up with my own design. I bought 3 different sets to come up with what I wanted.
Putting these on is pretty easy, at least for the ones I did. A Tablespoon of Dawn in a gallon of water and don't be shy about putting lots of water on. Then just take your time and follow the directions.
For the hood I went with this...
Taped up the back to give me some guide lines for the Spoiler Stripe
And finally Drivers Side Grand Sport Stripes
New View from the front

Not a fan of the GS stripes at all, on any car, but the front & rear lettering and hood scoop insert look nice.

Thanks! Maybe on the lettering, but as you will soon see, I got rid of all the non-silver and black on the whole car except for the rear. I like how the letters show now but in body color for the moment.

The first performance parts I ordered started arriving. I am going with a real Dual exhaust, and after reading the thread on the Hooker Blackheart, decided to opt for that, in 304 Steel. I ordered them all direct from Holley
Part numbers:
70201302-RHKR
70501313-RHKR
71223001HKR
The Exhaust itself is on backorder, but these came in
I don't plan on installing these until spring anyway. I may end up buying a small lift for the garage to make putting these on easier.

Next up was finally time to get the tires on. We started having some really nice days for being in February.
After reading on here, I knew there was a possibility of some rub, but I had no issues.
