Default So after looking over all the fox body/lsx swaps......

I have had interests in doing a lsx into a notch for awhile now and after seeing everyone elses projects make me want to do it more. The question I have is apart from the the obvious vehicle expense and motor/tranny how much should I budget to do this swap right?

Obviously udgets are always overrun but whats a good starting point.

Check out Lee_SS thread....he basically gathered all the parts required for the swap and had the swap done in about a week....I believe he said he has about 7 grand worth of parts into it...

These swaps are hard to budget....initial cost of the engine and transmission are KEY factors...which LSx based engine do you want to start with?
Do you want to keep it EFI or go carb? Stay all motor or boost or nitrous? Build up the motor or use it as is? etc etc...

i think ill have about 13k to 14k after everything. its boosted too. mine is also drag carish lol. u can find 5.3 and 6.0 swaps cheaper than most 5.7 stuff. keep it simple and try and do it right the first time. there are some corners u can cut but dont do it on the most important stuff. ive got a great harness for sale lol.

Im leaning towards a 6.0l lq4, would stay with EFI. Always been a fan of all motor cars, but at the same time a turbo bug is biting me.

I will look for his thread, thanks for the info.

I'm going to have about 13k in mine but that also includes buying the car.

Where you think it would be without the cost of the car and motor since those are gonna be the two biggest variables?

I'll have about 8k in my roller when I am done.. 25.5 1990 Mustang, stock suspension with every good part known to man. (a lot of used parts too)
The engine / trans will have about 10k in it.

I figure I'll be into the car around $20k, 700+hp n/a ls2 drag car.
