ls1 and ford tranny help
i just got the ls1 in my notch mustang. I have a ford c4 trans that i could use to bolt to the ls1 but has anyone ever seen this, it looks like ultrabell makes one for a chevy to ford c4 but iam not sure this would work with the ls1. This would save me some money . Is teh ls1 bellhousing the same as any chevy bell
ultrabell 92463 is the one i found

The ls1 has on eextra bolt hole which wont matter but also has a different clutch throwout length. to use an LS1 engine with a Th400 you need a 3/4" spacer. The SBC patter lines up but the input shafter is a different length. I'm not sure what what be required. Maybe an SBC to FSB plus a spacer or something.

use the ultra bell for a SBC and then use the crank spacer from a g van w/6.0l and a 4l80e. The fly wheel might be close as far as bolt pattern is concerned. DON'T drill out the upper right hand side bolt boss on the LS motor as it will hit a pressurized ouil passage.
