How is the A/C pump lubricated?
I'm using the A/C pump on my LS1 swap as an air compressor and I need to know how it is lubricated? I don’t see a fill plug anywhere for a reservoir. Does it rely on the freion for lubrication?
Thanks
Thanks

It is PAG oil & it is hydroscopic.
There is diff . viscosities of PAG , I think 150 is what you need.
You could use ester oil(diff. a/c oil),
it is all the same & not as hydroscopic.
It is a "generic" oil so take it as such.
Dont think you'll be able to use it for nothing else ,it is dependant upon refrigerant to move the oil around.
If oil where just layin' in there it wont lube it properly. It will eventually fail.

Re: How is the A/C pump lubricated?
I was planing on buying a lubricator for airlines and using that on the intake side of the pump and then have a filter on the exit side. I am only planning on using the pump occationally (3-4 times a month) to fill a 2 gal. tank to 90psi which will run an air locker in my front differential which only needs the pressure to engage it. and i was hopping to be able to air up my tires as well.
Think it will last?
