Default foxbody-ls1 swap. exhaust clearance issues!

Ive seen people have this issue nearly every time they do the swap but I cannot remember how you guys deal with header/exhaust manifold clearance on a Fox with an ls1 swap. I had some pacesetter truck shorties I thought were going to fit......but they hit the steering shaft. Is there any alternative to buying expensive longtubes? Please help, we are on our last leg before finishing the car and dont have the funds for longtubes.

iam in the same boat, it looks like most get 351 swap long tubes and weld the ls1 flange on . With most headers it looks like you need to just move one of the tubes around the shaft. I cant find any other way around it or a quick easy shorty block hugger header it sucks .
