Default GTO oil pan and LQ4 truck pump compatible?

I put the LS1 GTO pan and pickup tube on the '03 LQ4 I am swapping into the Mercedes on another thread. I noticed that the pickup tube was very difficult to get into the pump. It went in but seemingly much harder than it should. Is there a difference between the LS1 pump and the Truck pump? I was concerned about messing up the o-ring, and having the pump suck air. I swapped pans a couple of weeks ago, and havent fired the engine, but was thinking of taking the engine out to check it before the fire up.

I will be doing a cam change before fire up and was thinking I may be able to see any pushed o-ring without taking the pan out. What do you think?

You should be ok.. as long as you have used a new O-Ring and that the pickup is seated flush with the pump housing.

check out the BRP oil pickup tube Girdle... this should secure the tube to the pump.

Well, good thing I took it out, it had two o rings in it. I didnt pull the truck o ring out and placed the GTO tube in. Probably wouldnt have worked too well. Thanks for all the replies!
