lt1 t56...ls motor? can it be done?
i have a wreckd 95 t/a ( if anyone needs any parts pm) and i plan to take the t56 out and install it with a 5.3 vortec motor! it will go in a s10! is it possible to put a lt1 tranny with a ls motor? if so wut would be needed? and if someone knows where to get the parts for the conversion please let me kno! thanks

thought about that but most people if i find someone, they wont be local, it would be too much for shippin i think.does anyone kno wut tranny comes in a 2001 tahoe?

It's a fairly straight forward swap. I did it when I went from my old 305 SBC to the current 5.3. One way to do it is just get all the stock parts from an LS* t56; bellhousing, slave cylinder, input shaft, front plate and obviously the clutch stuff. Tear down your t56 and swap the parts. You'll have to have the input shaft bearing pressed onto the new shaft but a new bearing is only $15 or so.
And it won't realistically cost that much to ship. I bought all the stuff from D&D Performance. They were almost double the cost of the old sixspeedsinc but you can't really complain about what you can't buy anymore.
It cost several hundred dollars to do the swap for me; If I hadn't just rebuilt my trans I would've been looking at whole replacement LS* t56s.
