MAF difference?
What is the difference between the truck MAF's and the car(specifically fbody) MAF. Putting a 5.3 in my camaro, but the fbody wiring harness has a different plug and 1 less wire than the truck maf does. What should I do?

sorry to post in an old post but figured rather than creating a new one I would post in this since i found it in my search. I am slowly accumulating parts to do a 6.0l swap in a jeep. I originally had a fbody harness and found a fbody maf. Now I bought a 2006 lq4 from a h2 and it has the harness so I am thinking i will run this but was wondering if it would be best to try to come up with a truck maf or just try to adapt the fbody maf?
From what I read here it sounded like the truck one has the integrated iat sensor so that would be one less thing to come up with and find a place to put since i will probably be making a custom intake eventually. Is that the best option to just come up with a truck maf?

If you got the PCM w/ the lq4 & harness, get a truck MAF. Not noted in this thread is that the MAF scaling is different between an Fbody & truck MAF. If you use a truck MAF on an Fbody PCM, the MAF table needs to be re-scaled. Same is true if you use the Fbody MAF on an lq4 PCM. So, if you have the PCM, use a truck MAF so you don't have to have the MAF table re-scaled.
Sometimes 85mm MAF's show up on ebay for $25 + shipping. The best day to day on ebay is $49.99 shipped. For some reason, the guys trying to sell them here on Tech is $85 to $100.
