5.3 in 99 camaro, which starter?

5.3 in 99 camaro, which starter? Do I want to use a 5.3 starter or the ls1 starter? I wasnt sure if there was even a difference, so I have to ask. I was just going to get the 5.3 one but I wondered if id have clearance issues or something in an fbody, or if it was compatible with the ls1 harness.

The LS1 starter and the 5.3 starter will bolt up the same, but for some reason the LS1 starter has a short bolt and a long bolt. The truck starter takes 2 long bolts. Ive used both on 5.3's with no problems, but maybe the short bolt LS1 starter is for a chassis clearance issue in F bodys. I dont own a Fbody so i have no way to check, but if the 5.3 starter fits in your chassis you can run it

Truck starter is same size....just the casting on the ls1 starter mounting area "steps up" where the outer of the 2 bolts are, and uses a short bolt. Other than that, housing, solonoid are the same size
