Help LQ4 T-56 swap into 1994 V6-5 speed Fbody
So like the title says I have purchased a 2002 Silverado 2500HD LQ4 complete minus accessories. I grabbed the engine harness, ecu and MAF in case.
I'm trying to swap an LQ4 into a 1994 V-6 5-speed Camaro.
I just want straight factual information that i'm having trouble finding.
I dont know what is required to complete this swap successfully and clean but the reason i'm swapping into a 1994 is because its the newest year I can own without having to pass emissions.
I know I need an LS1 Cradle and from what i've read accessory drive and that is honestly all I know at the moment. I was hoping I could use the Truck's computer harness and maf etc... thats why I grabbed them.
If some of you could possibly help me with a list that would be unbelievable.
I also don't know if there are any V6 specific changes that would have to be made or even if the clutch master will suffice with the T-56. If I recall it is the same master on the LT1's.
Also if anyone has any recommended upgrades along the way that would be great.

Parts Needed For Sure:
LS1 Oil Pan windage tray and Pick up tube. (or cut 6.0 windage tray)
LS1 1998 or newer T-56 Transmission
LS1 K-Member
LS1 Steering Rack
LS1 Engine Mounts
LS1 Flywheel
LS1 Pilot Bearing / T/O Bearing and Clutch Assembly
LS1 Clutch Master cylinder
Some Form of fuel adaptation must be made from either changing the fuel pump and or swapping the car to a return style fuel system. Fuel department I will be using a completely fabricated setup including a fuel cell return style fuel setup professional products rails and OE injectors temporarily from an LS1.
Questionable parts or parts that might be able to be ordered instead of made?
Custom fabricated 6.0 Engine Mounts?

lq4 in 98 z
I'm doing a lq4 swap in a 98 z28. my harness all fits the same. The coil packs are different and also the valve covers differ from an ls1. The motor mounts from an ls1 will not bolt up to the 6.0. you will probably have to have some made even with an ls1 k member. I really didn't have to buy a lot of different parts to make it swap over. But if the info i have read is right you may have fitment issues with the older t56 transmission. Something about the input shaft being different.
p.m. with any questions. Hope to have pics up soon

Pan / p/u tube
Yes I was aware I needed an Oil pan and Pickup tube. I was also under the impression that the 6.0 windage tray would not work either because the 6.0 tray is the full length of the oil pan and the LS1 is only partial because the LS1 pan gets too shallow back towards the transmission. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Figured also going with an ls1 dipstick setup would probably be an alright idea as well.
As far as the transmission goes. I have read that you can adapt the older T-56 to work but it isn't worth all of the hassle to use it. I will be using a 1998 + T-56 or considering attempting the fitment of a TR-6060 depending on how much information I might be able to find on that trans.
Anyone else have some information to chime in with?

a couple of points;
if you decide to you can use the windage tray. you will have to cut the front of the tray off to clear the f-body oil pan.
the motor mounting location is the same on a 6.0 as it is on the 5.7
use the 98+ t56. it will bolt right up to the LQ4, replace the flex plate with a new flywheel, drop in the pilot bearing and the rest of the clutch set up and its good.
I can't see why the LQ4 harness would cause you issue, but i can't give you much detail on smog.
I swapped an LQ4 T56 into my 69 camaro, so smog wasn't a concern
good luck, don't worry whatever you don't know someone else does, and has done it already!

Thank You
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Any information is better than nothing.
I have no issues with smog in my state because the vehicle is a 1994. That is why i'm swapping the engine into a 1994. My future plans are to hit a minimum of 800whp but I need the engine to run right N/A before I go boosted!
Thank You again!!!

Only other thing I havent noticed posted is the fuel system. I'm pretty sure the v6 car is a return fuel system(at least mine is), and when you run a ls1 intake and FR the fuel system is returnless. Get an aftermarket Fuel rail and run a fuel pressure regulator, or vette fuel rail/regulator
Don't forget you need to run an ls1 car steering rack too, the v6 rack will not clear the motor(angle is too steep)

TTT.........
Just updated a little bit and added a couple of items to the list. I know there are people out there that have done this I just want to be sure I do it right the first time please help if you can and be as specific as possible. Thank You!!!
I have added the LS1 Clutch Master because they are different part numbers so I'm guessing there's a good reason behind it.

Out of curiosity are you now running obd2 in your vehicle? I take that answer as a yes but I'm just wondering.
