Body work on the cab is done, replaced both rocker panels and cab corners, they were not really that bad, but I didn't want anything coming back to haunt me later on.

Also stripped the firewall, fixed a ton of little dents and dings in the cab, and modified the top of the dash so I can use two speakers instead of only one.

I've always liked the blue and white 2 tone paint scheme. I saw your truck at GoodGuys in KCK, but there was never anybody around.

I was probably over bs'ing with a couple of the guys from 67-72, at least you didn't see me break down on the track laps

Are you gonna modify your own harness?

Yes I'm going to modify my own harness, I always do, it's cheaper that way!
Sucks that you broke down on the track, I almost had to be towed off the track several years ago, I slowed down enough to drop it in low, and when I did, a weld on the shift arm on the transmission cracked so the detent was off, then when I shifted to drive, there was nothing. Thinking I had fried the trans, and that drive was gone, I shifted it up another gear to what I thought was neutral.......It wasn't, it was reverse! Car died, and I coasted a long way till it started, then I floored it to catch up to everybody else that was more than half way around the track. I got her up to about 110-120, it's kick *** to take the turn at 100! But.... then when we all exited the track, the motorcycle cop there bitched me out for going too fast.

Cab is painted.

That should be a fun truck. I have a buddy who is going to build a two wheel drive Blazer with a big block.

ls1nova71. youve really inspired me. please tell me you have a shop and you do this for a living. i cant see anyone doing that type of work at home in their garage. it seems like you do this for a living. with project builds, they seem better when you do it yourself. my skills are limited. tell me one thing how are you going to do your own wire harness. if posible i would like to learn this nifty trick. my job is hectic this my only outlet. here are som pics. i would like to learn body work also. i gues this all takes time. taking something old and transforming to new is my hobby now.

I noticed you were possibly planning on using the factory a/c pump bracket and exhaust manifolds, did u trial fit after the pump bracket was on? I am doing the same swap w/ an 07 lq4 and I realized the pump wouldn't work w/o frame mods, did you notch the frame and anything else that may be in the way, or did you get that far yet? As far as the exhaust manifolds, are you staying w/ the factory ones, or did you get aftermarket headers? I need to find headers and Im having no luck finding them. I would appreciate if you could tell me what part numbers you ran and who you got them from. thank you in advance.

assuming you are doing a 71 based on screen name?
The A/C fits but the line location might require frame removal and depending on what motor mounts you used.

I will work on my AC addition later after some miles.

I sent you a PM.

No, I didn't blast it, this was supposed to be my 'driver' truck to haul stuff around in, but things are getting out of hand......

No shop, and I don't do this for a living. I'm working in a detached 2 car garage. You can see all of it in the pics. Everything I know has come from just jumping in and trying thing I don't know how to do. It's amazing what you can do, if you don't know you can't do it!
