Nissan 200(240)sx with 2004 GTO LS1+T56
Hello.
After reading here for a while, and helping my friend build a Nissan 240sx with a LS1. I desided to build my own car. Beeing fed up with small turbocharged 1.8 liters, i really liked the nice low down power and hopefully the relability of the LS1 engine.
Bougth me a completly stripped nissan 200 sx s13. And bougth a 04 GTO engine complete with gearbox and harness from an american carjunk.
Here is a picture of the car today:

For the engine mounting we used own made mounts, and custom made gearbox mount. And the headers is GTO original headers, clearing the steering rack nice. But we cut and angeled the right side header to clear the body.

I will post pictures of our custom parts in a little while.
But first I have a question:
How do i connect this hose, little black one, next to the upper radiator samco hose.
It seems to be the radiator Overflow connector. So this should go to an expantion tank? if i'm right.
Right now I have moced it up to the radiator overflow, just so it would look good on the technican check on a track day so I could drive.. But i'm thinking these two needs to go both into an expantion water overflow tank?
I know this must be connected wrong
The reason for my question is the car worked perfectly all day long on its first track event. But after standing still 1 hour on a trailer it threw like half the radiator content of water on the ground. And it seems to be my wrongly conneced hose that the water came from.

That line is the steam vent line, it does NOT go to the radiator overflow. It needs to be connected to the upper radiator hose. You can use a T like these http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Par...rass-Tees.html

Beautiful car. Nice work. Must go like stink.
The steam vent hose is under pressure. You hooked it to the unpressurized side of the radiator cap. suprised it ran for as long as it did.
You can route it to a hose, or drill and tap a fitting into the top of the water pump.
Some guys just block off the line altogether. But that is a whole nother argument around here.

The engine mounts ended up a little like this. Just a square metal tube with a huge bolt at the top. Standing on the orignal crossmember, and connected to the engine using the "old chevy mounts" in poly from Energy Suspention. with a small adapter plate moving it somewhat back.

Kult med LS1, føler det kan være litt driftsikkert
Here is a picture of the cut we had to make in the front crossmember. This was welded up "boxed" after the cutting.
