Yes..

Bore that thing out to a 5.7 (will be stronger than an aluminum ls1 bc it's iron, more than likely) and find some stock ls1 rotating assembly stuff, put a nice big cam and a set of heads on it with the supporting mods and call it a day if you want it NA, but with the stronger block I'd have a hard time not going with a milder cam combo and boosting it..

i guess ... simply can i get 400 to 500 hp (NA) out of a ls1 intake manifold with just a simple port match job. or do i need to go to a ls6 intake and leave it alonne.

this is of course on a 5.3

The guys over on the truck forums have the flow numbers on all three intakes. The truck intake flows better than the early LS1 (pre 2000) and as well as the LS6 intake up to something like 500RPM, then the LS6 flows better at the higher RPM's. I've generalized quite a bit, but as I recall those are the basics. The truck intakes are really pretty decent.

Intake manifold hard data. Might look at the LS2 manifold it's a 90mm TB. Or get a TBSS truck manifold its 90mm as well.
