Default LS muscle car oil pan kit, anyone use it?

http://www.superchevyperformance.com...p/19212593.htm

I need a rear sump to swap out w/ my GTO pan... this looks like a great buy.

Does anyone have any experience w/ this set up... couldn't tell what pan this is, or if it's unique to this part number.

edit: looked again... looks to be a H3 pan.

Its the LH8 5.3L oil pan from the H3. And its complete. The part numbers are in the oil pan thread at the top.

What you looking to put it in though??? Might help.

Going in a toyota truck... told an F-body pan will work... just saw this while I was looking at the f-body pan and thought "hmm"

Ya, I had planned to call to see if they actually have them in stock before I ordered it as I've seen that they are on "national back order". So I doubt they actually have one on hand. There *is* one on ebay right now for a bit more than that.

The kits is on back order again, but you can buy the pieces, if you're replacing a truck pan, you don't need to buy the baffle, its the same

I've got CTS-V pans. They are similar to the F-body pan.
Pan with gasket and tray for $175.

I also have extra truck pans.

Just buy the Moroso or Milodon, or Autokraft pan. Its more money, but the ground clearance is the best.

Have you ever bought anything from GMParts direct and paid their "shipping and handling fee"?

$175 shipped becomes a bargain for a pan with gasket and tray.

Actually its $131.04 plus $27.52 shipping, which comes out to $158.56
I can buy it through my local dealer for less then that.

I bought one as pieces when they were on national back order the first time, plus i didn't need the baffle since I was replacing a truck pan and the baffle is the same

I have the LH8 pan, and it stuck down over 2 inches below the crossmember in my G body. Waste of money. Ill probly try to sell it after I get the car running.

i bought this kit thinking it would work on my 62 impala. WRONG!!!!! Had to order F-body oil pan and it worked fine. But i still need to raise the engine mounts atleast 1/4" to 1/2" due to the lack of clearance with the pan and crossmember.

For realsies. That LH8 pan aint all its cracked up to be cuz of the DEEP sump its got. I used the Moroso #20140 pan, and it clears the crossmember on top and in behind. Its a little trickier to get the motor in place, but it goes. I am still using the dipstick and windage tray from my LH8 kit cuz I broke my truck dipstick tube getting it out, and I didnt feel like changing the tray for no reason.
