I also need to look into upgrading my rear brakes, maybe a twin caliper disc setup. (running stock drums now) when im staging i start foot braking it a few feet before the staging beams to prespool the turbo a little before being fully staged and hitting the trans brake. the problem is im on the brakes hard as i can and when it starts making torque it blows right thru the brakes. so i end up having to back petal the throttle (which looses all my boost) to stop before red lighting and i dont want to be rolling while hitting the t brake button so then i have to start building boost all over again. The only other thing im thinking i can do to try and help with this is to pull more timing out while the t-brake/launch control button is in. its at 0*deg timing while button is in and with in 1000 rpm of launch limit rpm. i want to try pulling it down to -5*deg to see if it will spool a little faster one on the t brake. just need to play around with it more.

I have adjustable upper and lower control arms, UPR adjustable sway bar, stock springs and autozone shocks. Running 28x10.5 ET drags. I think that is it. My setup went 1.34 and 1.35 with a launch from 1-2k rpm. I think it will do a bit better off the t-brake with some more RPM.

I found similar with my setup (also stock rear drums). While I can work with the brakes, I really struggle with my brake pedal setup. I have manual style pedals which means my brake pedal is tiny. It is almost impossible to stwitch feet on the pedal so I can use the brake and throttle at the same time.

Pulling a bit of timing out of your setup should help. That small staging window is a bitter harder to work with when you have some power to contain at the same time.

Then Sunday went and got my nhra license passes out of the way up at barona drag strip. The last two full passes were 6.26@111mph and backed it up with a 6.25@112 running 12psi boost on all those passes. Best 60' sofar is 1.42

Those are crazy times considering one track is a parking lot and the other was likely 4k feet DA!

Default Question

Hey man me and another guy over here are really looking for some info on how to get our LSx motors running on Megasquirt likeyourself.

Do you think you could do a write-up or help get us going down the right direction.

I've read a ton of the megamanuals but would be really nice to see someones writeup on how there doing it.

(71 chevy) I don't know I have not put it on scales yet. I would think around 2900-3000 if I had to guess.

(bigamil) I'll see what I can do. What is it your needing info about?

Congrats again. Do you attribute those times to any suspension changes? Haha

I was raising my 2 step rpm and put a little more air in the tires. And it kept going quicker. I was going to go for one more pass and try to get a high 5.80 out of her but the track closed early because of how few cars were running. The track prep was on point this wknd.

(Tireburnin) oh you mean my chunks of rusty steel drilled out and used inplace of a heim joint sway bar end links. Well those are what we call "custom" haha

(71chevy) Yes but there is a little strip that has to be added to fill a gap left.
