Not really that much to up date on. Ran it one more time since the last time I posted the best was 5.91@118.5mph with 1.37 60' did get a new PB of 1.32 60' on a different pass that day. I just got a set of 80 pound injectors to swap out and im going to install a set of ported 243's with arp head bolts shooting for 800-850hp with more boost of course. Wanting to get in the 5.70's still need to cut my the safety impact beams out of my doors as they are still completely stock down to the power windows. those will stay tho!

Don't think ill have any time to work on it. Been very busy building a supercharged 1uzfe Lexus 4.0L v8 with a ms3 for a friends long travel sand car. Desert season is coming up fast. And I still have to give my truck some prep. The 62 nova should barona back out this time with some real power. Bigger Turbo / injectors and fairly large water to air intercooler.

The ms3 w/ expansion board controls fuel and spark (full sequential) with no other modules or msd boxes etc. It is wired to the factory crank angle and cam sensor etc. ms2 can run the kinda the same way but can not be made to work fully sequential it will have to run wasted spark (fire two plugs at the same time via twin post coils) and it batch fires two banks of 4 of injectors alternating back and forth. In my opinion its well worth the 200 or so dollars to upgrade to the ms3 as I did (ms3 was not out when I started this project but I ordered the upgrade before it came time to wire it up). I do have a another vehicle with a 1uzfe lexus v8 in a prerunner off road ford ranger its running an old school ms1 v3.0 board it runs batch fire fueling and wasted spark its time for an upgrade big time. Maybe ill handle that when I turbo it. lol

Time for an update. Tore into the motor a few weeks ago to gap the top ring and swap to ported 243 heads. Upon pulling the #1 rod/piston out found the rod looking like a banana turns out the motor was running in the high 5's on three or more bent rods. Lucky for me i had a set of factory gen4 rods chilling so i got a set of 4.8 flat tops w/ floating wrist pins and threw those in so it will end up 9.9to1 comp like the HO 5.3L. i finished porting the heads yesterday and dropped them off at machine shop today to get valve job and resurfacing done. Going to use arp head bolts this time around and swapped to a comp cams turbo cam 232/228 .595/.585 114lsa. Also ordered a bigger turbo should be here eary next week. Went with a Garrett GT4508R 1.28a/r (the real deal not china ebay) Also installing my 80# injectors and upgrading my map sensor to one that will read up to 40psi old one is done at 21psi. Adding a water pump to my intercooler to try and keep iat's down as they were getting up to 140deg at end of pass I think it was heat soaking the non flowing water sitting in the core. Also switching to a remote elec water pump on the motor tired of throwing belts. Installing a stroud dragchute (think now is good a time as any) gunna finally cut the impact beams out of the doors but power windows will be staying. Goals are to loose 100+ lbs and get 800+whp looking for 5.70's or faster. I'll work on getting some pics together.
