Which engine combo should I go with for my 03 350Z
I 'am going to start my conversion here very soon. The engine and tranny are already out of the car. I'm looking to make 500-600 rwhp. Here are my options and parts I already own.
Engine combo 1.)
-complete 5.3L engine with 317 heads,LS6 intake and cam plus ported TB
-F-body Vortech SC with a T-trim blower with the aftercooler setup.
Combo 2.)
-LSX block, thinking of going with a 454 shortblock
-Beck sheetmetal intake
-Accufab 105mmTB
-C5R heads done by WCCH
-TNT direct port injection
I have those parts listed above. I was also thinking of goin with a L92 engine out of an Caddy for 3300. Which way do you think I should go with this car? This will be a D&D car.

The reason I was thinking of the 5.3 combo is because I think this would be the cheapest and it has how would I say; a cool factor if I ever wanted to sell the car. Here are the parts that I was think of purchasing for this combo: LS9 head gaskets,LS7 lifters, ARP head studs, ARP rod & crank bolts, new rod bearings, double roller timing chain, moly push rods. The pulley that's on the the Vortech puts out 12 psi on a stock 346 LS1 so I believe it should display a little more on the 5.3L.

You can get a 5.3 cheap, but it sounds like you want some serious power.
I suggest you look for a bargain on a 6.0l block (like an LQ9) and build it from the ground up. It's just easier to make really good numbers with.

I know, I'll use the 5.3 as a mock up and I will take it from there. I'm going to end up sending the Z to WWW.morrismotorsports.net for the rollcage.....
