Default 2004r/flexplate

i ordered pn12621399 flexplate w/spacer from crateenginedepot.com i am using this on a 5.3 eng w/2004r the torque convertor holes are half a bolt off. meaning that the bolt wont go in. what do i do, open them up?

So you are bolting up a 2004R trans to the 5.3, Is your convertor correct for the 2004R input shaft? I used the TCI flexplate on mine and had no problems. Some of the earlier GM flexplates had dual pattern bolt holes I believe but you may have to use the spacer to make them work with the trans you are using. This has been covered before in earlier posts I believe. Perhaps some of the earlier 5.3 truck flexplates? Good luck with the install, nice trans choice.

Just open the holes up a little with a Drimmel tool. It happens to almost everyone that uses anything other than an LS tranny.
