Default Which MSD to use on a carbed 6.0?

I just sold my LT1 today and picked up my new 6.0. Im running a carb so my question is which MSD controller do I need to get? I have heard of the one with the "chips" and the other that is PC tunable. I think that the one that is tunable has a part number 6010. The thing is I may have found a used one but it doesnt have a part number one it, it has a place where a "chip" is plugged in that says "curve 1" and on the other end it has a 12-15 pin plug on it. Is that the one I need?

If it has a 24x reluctor wheel then you need a 6010 and i believe that is the LQ4 and LQ9. An LS2 has a 58x reluctor wheel and it needs the MSD 6012. It is the computer programmable one but also comes with chips to kind of base the tune off of.

What year is your 6.0? '05 (ish) and earlier are 6010...they have a rear (black) crank sensor (24x). The front (grey) sensor is 58x reluctor...MSD 6012

I believe the MSD controller will say "MSD" on it...does it have that, at least? From my understanding you can use both "pills" and laptop, with the MSD. Edelbrock controller is pills only. MSD is the only way to go for an optimum tune.

I think it is a 2002 6.0. The box is a MSD it says that it is a LS timing controller.

24x or 58x look at your crank if you have a 2002 motor for sure it is 24x (count the teeth)

then get the 6LS MSD PN#6010

on the 6010 it is pc tunable and does have pills ....but IF there is a pill installed it over rides the PC tune.

Yes the engine has a rear (Black) crank sensor above the starter. I guess that means it is a 24X crankshaft.
