LS1 Coolant Temp Sender Warning Trigger
Does anyone know the temperature that trips the coolant warning light on a LS1 engine? FWIW, it is from a 2000 Trans Am.
Doing a conversion into a 944 and need to know this for VDO sender.
Thanks,
Ted

Correct. The sender in the head leads to the ECU and the rest takes place there. The stock 944 sender is set up to have the analog needle gauge and a warning light that trips at around 115, if I recall correctly, and it is triggered right from the sender. That 115 is for the turbo four banger. I know that I am going to need something hotter than that but dont know what stock GM trigger point is. I wonder what is programmed in the GM ECU stock?
