Exclamation LH8 pan..

Am changing the pan on the LQ9, and have found a couple items that could lead to poor oil tube seal..
1.The new tube does not lay flat at the mount tabs.
Forcing them down, pulls a bind on the o'ring/pump connection. I bolted the tube down at the pump, and checked the mount tab fit.
The ft tab is .325" off of the windage tray face, and the stud is at the rear end of the slot.[Needs filed out.]
The rear tab base hits the cutout in the windage tray, causing a .040" gap. The tray needs some grinding to clear.
Once the grinding is done, the tabs will be shimmed and bolted down.
Bottom line: Check TWICE, fix once.

This could be easily overlooked. Especially, w/ the oil pressure problem showing after the engine is in the car.
Murphy is alive and well!
