2003 5.3L in 64 chevelle fuel system question
Putting a 2003 5.3 in a 64 chevelle. 5.3l has return type fuel rail. I will be using an external fuel pump located near gas tank.
Should I use corvette style filter/regulator near pump and block off return at intake or do filter only near pump and run return line from intake back to tank?
I would like to use the corvette style filter/regulator for a simpler install of fuel system. If I go this way I guess I will have 2 regulators in the system, the one on the fuel rail and the one in the corvette style regulator. Any pro's/con's with this setup?
Any advice?

Neal,
I have a 5.3 in my '56 Chevy but have a LS6 intake. It only has a supply line at the fuel rail. (runs really good - you're going to like it) It has a Corvette FPR like you mentioned and works well.
I would lean toward using what you have. If you have an intake with a supply and return at the rail, I'd use it. If you just want to use the single line going to the intake, I'd shop for a truck manifold with the single line. Just my opinion.

You CAN NOT just block off the return on a return style fuel rail to make it returnless. If you really want a returnless set up, get another fuel rail, with as many truck motors as there are out there, it shouldn't be hard to find. But it's really not that much harder to run the return back to the tank and use a standard fuel filter. It saves you money not having to buy the more expensive Corvette fuel filter.
