wow i guess it has been awhile since I updated this thread! alot has changed since. upgraded the front A arms shock mounts, brake calipers, rotors, transmission, torque converter and more! drove it on the Hot rod power tour for a couple of days and back to the fifties hoping to run in the Optima street car challenge in august going to get back to the drag strip soon too.

made a tranny jack out of a air over hyd.cylinder and some casters that i had laying around it worked great!

I can't remember if this was covered, what spindles are you using? CTS-V brakes would be a nice update to my 61 Impala.

Hey, fellow Minnesotan here, I've seen this at Back to the 50's for a few years now, pretty cool to follow the build here as well. I've always liked the magic market theme, pretty sweet ride.

Just saw your car on Detroit Muscle. It was at a Street Rod Nationals show on the dyno. I told my wife that car looked familiar, and I had actually just found this thread again this afternoon. Crazy how that works.

got completely side tracked this summer just spent most of the summer driving the Belair instead of working on it or the Chevelle. i picked up a dream machine that i never thought i would be able to own in my life! it has consumed most of my free time this summer but it will pay me back with the possibilities of what this thing can do! i plan on making the inner wheel wells, tubbs, floor pans and so much more with it i feel so blessed to even be able to own one so i thought it would be the right thing to do is paint this thing up to look like the awesome machine that it is and refresh my airbrush skills and learn new ones. the big catch is it is fricking huge and sparked off another project of finding a place to put it !

Thanks for the compliment. i always try to push myself out of my comfort zone to help learn new skills and sometimes just pound my head against the wall asking myself why i can't think simple! because everything takes 10 times longer than it should.

thanks for the compliment. looks like the Power tour is not going to be close this year so it will have to be somewhere else. good luck with your build .
