Default Swap a LS1/7 in my 1950 Chevrolet Styleline

Hey ladies and gentlemen. I recently found my new love...a 1950 Chevy Styleline sedan. My past projects have been 60s cars so I am excited to dive into something different. I want to put a LS1 in my 50 with a 6 speed manual. Anybody have any experience with this???

Are you going to clip it (mustang II or camaro subframe)? IMO that would make things a little less complicated if you have the time and resources.

guys run ford 9" rears, but you could also go with a 8.5 10 bolt chevy rear end. some even came with disk brake rears. I'm a big ford 9" fan because of the availability of parts.

Hey guys I have a 52' Styleline that I really want to swap this 04' 5.3L that I have been building. What year Camaro sub frame should we try and use? Any suggestions....

I know that the late 60's Nova sub frame was a popular swap. Make sure you get help from someone familiar with that type swap. Excellent welding skills are a must. An entire S10 frame might also be something to consider. You can get traditional rod and custom modification info at the H.A.M.B. board.

Many will use the early 2nd Gen F-body sub frames. they are front steer which make it a better than the rear steer of the 1st Gen F-Body or Nova sub frames.

Everyone in the industry makes basic Mustang II kits for popular cars. I am pretty sure you can get all the parts pretty inexpensively. Take a look at some of the street rod 4 bar kits for your rear suspension. Quite affordable and the ride is fantastic.
