Default How much power can the stock LQ4 handle?

Doing some research - what can a bone stock LQ4 handle before bad things start happening?

Ugg, that dampers my spirits. My stock block 302 made that and I was worried about it grenading. Started considering an LSx swap over a 351 swap because I thought maybe it would hold at least as much as the Windsor.

Slightly depressing I guess.

they will hold 700-800 hp with stock crank , rods with ARP Bolts , and stock pistons and heads with good srings to match the cam .

with aftermarket rods and pistons you can make 1000 hp.

That's more like it - thanks

My stock block 302 ended up going 10.37@132 in 3000' DA weather - had I held out until Fall weather i'm sure she would have went 9's with no problem.

Do not want to 'regress' by installing an LSx turbo combo that runs slower or is just as fragile as my last combo. Would rather just stuff a 351w in there that will easily hold 800 to the tire.
