So I bought this truck for a daily driver and came across a lq9 from a friend and then found some motor mounts for the s10 so why not start on the build.... here are some random pics of the start!!!!!
heres pics i just started taking it apart to get ready for the swap
Took the front end off the truck and un wired all the accessories just have to pull drive shaft off unbolt trans crossmember and motor mounts and she is out!
heres some more pics of the engine getting cleaned a bit it was dirty!!!!

what im really worried about is that i have a long bed  but i bought it for 500 for a daily to haul small things and to get around when i need to.... well the route I want to go is th350 but idk what tail shaft to go? short or long? I know im going to need a custom driveshaft due to the fact im going stock 8.8 not narrowing it at all... what all are yall doing for wheel? as far as drag setups?

nothing wrong with the longbed. throw a roll pan, 3/3 drop, cowl hood and some 17"+ wheels and youll never know the difference. be careful with which mounts you buy. trans dapt mounts were crap so i made my own. mine will be on the road next week once its tuned.

if you are having to have a driveshaft built it doesen't much matter how long the tail shaft is. mine is a short tail shaft. as for wheels my truck is on 15x8.5 and 15x3.5 telestars with 275/60 mickey thompson with stock wheel wells.

What are you using for U-bolts and mounting brackets for that 8.8" rear? I have the same one (From an 01' if I remember correctly) going into my 65' Mustang. The axle tubes are quite a bit larger than most out there. I did find some from jegs I do believe with fit though...

im not sure the size on the axle tubes but most auto parts stores have a motormite catalog behind the counter they can look through. I work for Oreillys is how i know this. If you have an Oreillys close go there after you find out the legnth and width you need and they will be able to get you U-bolts

Thanks for the info Dupree! I havent really gotten into details on doing the rear end swap so im not 100% sure.... Ill be sure to include all the details and part numbers when i do get started installing everything in the truck... I want to make this write up as clean cut as possible.... cause it bugs me when i start doing something and people leave small details out and then it throws you completely off! So im planning on doing a good write up

I put an 8.8 in my s10 also, i ended up going to a local powertrain shop and had custom u bolts bent, 3.5 in round radius, the length of the legs depends on if you are using lowering blocks or not.
Swap is looking good btw!
