Anyone have a problem putting ls6 intake on a LQ4
I am doing a LQ4 swap in a 1980 Trans am and I am picking up parts for it and I was told that the fuel line on a ls6 intake will hit the truck coils. Can anyone who has done this swap verify this is true or not? thanx

Since it can point to either side, I flipped it around, and found it makes no difference. Neither did swapping coil packs from side to side. To me, a pack is 4 coils plus the bracket. I tried to be thorough for ya:
With the block sitting where it is, this side made it easier for me to get a closer pic:
Note the 3 tiny kinks, from using the 13 mm box-end wrench in 3 places. This is better than just 2 sharper kinks.

Now switching from triangle coils to round coils, the bending would need to be slightly upward, or else modify the bracket. The difference is less the coils themselves, more the different brackets. These brackets seem to move the coils upward and inward.
Note that I got my coils and brackets as assemblies, as GM put them together. I never removed any coil from any bracket, of what's shown above. My triangle coils came with my '01 LM7, no idea whether pickup or Suburban or what, 2wd or 4wd, et cetera.
My round coils came with my '01 LQ4, again, no idea what it was installed in.
