Shouldn't be a problem with moving it into the Cab.. Many have mounted them just about everywhere.. but the main concern is the harness and how far it will allow you to move it..
If you get a new aftermarket one, some will allow you to order it with extra long wire to the PCM. That will help. I read somewhat that on vendor will add 6 extra feet to the harness (?).
Some have mounted them behind in the glove box, depending on what kind of Heater/AC box you using it can work there well.
I have mine mounted inside right on top of the trans tunnel just behind the firewall. I took the harness apart, re-arranged the wires to lead straight backward into the firewall with a small console hiding it.

Here's the thread on Lateral G, I ordered one yesterday, I'm into fabbing my own stuff, but with work, 2 projects, a family 2 kids, and 3 Daily drivers, building/fabbibg, let alone working on anything is a chore!
