Oil filter for F-body pan?

Oil filter for F-body pan?
Hey guys. Anyone have any idea which oil filter fits an f-body oil pan? The stamping on the oil pan is 12558899. Supposedly it's a 13/16-16 filter, but it will not spin on and wants to strip the threads instead.
I have searched but not much luck.

It is a new oil pan. But the problem is that a PF48 is M20x1.5 and is too small and the PF46 is 13/16-16 and "almost" fits but wants to strip the threads. I don't get it? Any other possibilities? I've been trying NAPA's filter and cross referenced the PF part numbers to their Napa gold filters if that makes a difference. Threads should be the same.

WOW, that's strange. Sounds like it was either a 5th gen pan to begin with or the manufacturer of the oil pan screwed up.

So it's one of two things...either the manufacturer screwed up and put the wrong fitting on there or all new pans now come with the 5th gen fitting. I don't know, I'm just happy I don't have to run to the parts store for an oil filter anymore.

What happened to you happened to me...
I discovered the hard way that all new from GM pans use 22mm thread metric filters. I'm using a cross reference for a GEN IV engine on my Thunderbird with a new GM pan in a 1997 car and a 2000 engine running a 2002 program on an 01 PCM... (confused yet - I think I am)
I keep a sheet of all this type stuff in each car so I don't have to think hard about it on the road if something breaks. Thankfully, I've never needed it.

I would think if the pan came from a F-body (not GMPP) the PF46. My GMPP Fpan used a PF48, but its 1 1/2-2 yrs old. Maybe GM used the PF48 nipples until they ran out. If your pan is new try a Fbody5 filter.

I had the same problem with my Retro LSx oil pan.. it came with a 22mmx1.5mm filter adapter.. I just went an order a 20mmx1.5mm adapter for a 4th gen car.. LS1
GM Part #12552357 / $11.60 Retail.. got it for $8.14.. problem solve. Now I can use a standard oil filter or any other one off the shelf for a LS1.
If you want to use either the 46 or 48 filter, just to use the correct adapter for what ever oil filter you want to use.
