LH8/Muscle Car pan vs. stock truck pan
Does anyone have the dimensions for the LH8 pan (I've read 7.75" deep sump) vs. a stock LY6 pan (I think this is the same as the LQ9/4 pan.
Just want to know if there's a benefit to the LH8 pan over a stock truck pan.
thanks
Jim

The truck pan is the dirty one. Clean = LH8

This is how much the LH8 hangs down from the cross member on my 1970 Camaro. It will be ok for this summer if I'm careful, but I bet I will be swapping it out for a CTS-V or F-body pan. I have about 4.5" from the ground to the pan and is in line with my wheels. Speed bumps shouldn't be a problem. I HOPE the suspension hits the bump stops before the pan hits the ground...

Cts-v...
I've put the LH8 pan in the pic, on my LQ9 in the 55... It's below the frame, but I've not measured how far...
The CTS pan gets frequent mention. I may investigate, if I have problems. [Or, I may take the nasty truck pan, and fire up the tig machine....]
It looks by the dims and the pics in the sticky, that the CTS pan is a no go for the 55. The LH8 is close to the steering link, as it is.
