Ls1 5 speed swap 1948 chevy truck I am new here but have visited this site many times and enjoy looking. Just thought i would share some photos of my 12 month project that i just finished. Its a 1948 chevy truck Turquoise poly LS1 5 speed manual....just a good feeling to have it finished.........thanks for looking.........Roger H
Added a picture of the truck that delivered it to me from Texas, honking long 48' enclosed trailer, also a pic of fitted body to s-10 frame. I had to assemble and disasemble most parts 3 times total to get it exactly where i wanted everything before final painted assembly......whew!

Nice I almost bought one of these trucks for 200 dollars in a field in Wyoming. I should have instead of the Grand National I bought a month later for 9000. For the price I could have had a lot of money to actually work on it rather than spend all my money on a car that ended up needing a lot of stuff anyways and not having much money left over. Did you do the entire project yourself?

Nowadays it doesn't matter if its a iron block or aluminum block with all the different head and block combinations. LS1 is a good enough description even if it technically is an iron truck block.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes i built the complete truck, i farmed out the custom exaust and had a guy plane and cut the slippery elm lumber for the bed floor. I also rebuilt the rear end in my sons s-10 and he helped me on the under hood engine harness for the help on his.....I think him and i both are about ready to start building our next project.....i will try to post a few more pictures........
