already had return style efi system... how to plumb to lq4
Guys
i had efi on my 67 camaro. its -10 teflon line from the tank, in one rail, out the other to an aeromotive fpr.
how do i plumb this into the lq4 returnless system? just put one oulet of the fpr to the fuel rail and then return of the fpr back to the tank? which line into the intake rail is it?
what kind of connection do i need at the fuel rail? be nice to adapt it to the -10

my setup is a 2003, so i think thats the last year for a lq4 return style system..
well, i am going turbos, so id need a boost referenced fpr. already have it.
i guess going aftermarket rails isnt that bad...

If I'm not mistaken you could just run the return off of the fpr back to the tank. then you would have to run something similar on the rail to adapt to the braided line ( http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-LT...ign=GoogleBase ...not 10-an though)?

the stock looking "fpr" thing is actually a pulse dampener, it's not a regulator.
you would have to put the fpr before the rail and have a return line from the regulator to the tank. or go with aftermarket rails and attach the lines and regulator the same way you have it now.

Most early stock truck rails (w/ two lines) do include the regulator, it's not a dampener/ check valve like the car rails. You can tell the difference because regulators have vacuum nipples on them. The stock regulators won't respond to boost and although many people use stock rails with boost, we never do. I recommend getting aftermarket rails to do it correctly and still routing your lines like you used to have it.
It would also be a good time in my opinion to switch to a car intake for looks and higher RPM performance that works well with boost.

so just curious if i could bypass or gut/hollow out the stock fpr and then plumb the return line to my aeromotive boost reference fpr?
also, can the stock truck rails support 800hp? im going turbo....

if i have to use aftermarket rails, i wiil, but if i can hollow out the stock fpr and use these stock truck rails, then i dont have to buy new rails, fab new mounts for the new rails and plus, it would look stockish... i like stock looking stuff...
just wanted tyo know if i can bypass the stock fpr and if the rails will support the 800+ hp

i gutted mine and welded the nipple shut. also had to build stand off's for the tall injectors. twin pumps to fuel rail to regulator then return to the tank. i used compression fittings but will switch to fuel rail adapters(-8,-6) or go to a new rail if i have problems. so far so good ,other than the autozone relay lasting 30 minutes.

I saw some one on here using a turbo setup on a new truck, and never changed the rails, or regulator. Im no expert, but Im also trying to learn how this all work before I add a turbo to my LQ4.

I saw another post of a guy getting 700 rwhp out of his truck rails...
Im starting to think its worth a little experiment to see what i could get out of these truck rails...
one thing id like to do is tap one of the rail end out for a -10AN fitting (what i had on my old 540 BBC).
wondering if anyone has ever done modifications to these plastic rails...

i guess i should have mentioned that i have a 2003 lq4 with a mpt76 turbo two intank 255s 80lb fords @48psi and an aeromotive boost referenced regulator. i took the stock regulator off and die ground its intestines out. i also noticed that my stock tune has the kpa versus flow rate as static, so it is vac referenced and as memory serves years ago i read in low boost situations it will keep the fuel at a constant pressure. and if you look really close at it it has a safety star that is threaded and is "adjustable".
