It's damn close to done and actually runs now. It's licensed, insured and passed emissions beautifully.

I have the factory cooling lines snaked up along the engine and looped together for now. I plan on hooking them to an oil cooler next time I'm with the car. As far as connecting the lines to an oil cooler, I'll likely rig up AN flare nuts on the lines and run AN hoses to the cooler. I've read that the oil cooler isn't necessary on this car since there's actually air flow back to the transmission, but honestly I'd rather not chance it; an oil cooler is a piece of cake to mount.

I haven't torn down this transmission, I have no knowledge to offer on the oil pump that a google search wouldn't provide .

I love the chambered exhaust. These are actually custom length mufflers i had stainless works make up, so YMMV. At idle, they're quiet, during cruise, you can have a conversation without yelling. When you lay into the throttle it's as loud as a prepped nascar. There is no drone at all on the inside, I'm really really happy with them. I wish I could have tucked the pipes up higher, but that stupid S&P crossmember got in the way. It's really a poorly thought out part.

If I had to do it all over I would buy nothing from S&P.

Moondoggy.....I have installed the same motor in my '36 coupe. I'm at a standstill right now about an outlet on the passenger side head.
In the picture below (passenger side) you can see there are two small outlets for coolant. One snakes over to the driver's side head.

The clear tube you see is a temporary measure to prevent coolant from flowing on to the floor. I've heard various ideas about what to do with this inlet....everything from block it off, run it to the upper rad hose, run it to a fitting in the rad and run it to a lower throttle body fitting.

Does your LS have this same fitting. If so, how did you handle it?

That's the steam pipe, it keeps air pockets from building up in the heads. My ron davis radiator has a fitting on it for that line. In the picture below it's smaller hose that's right below the upper radiator hose.

If you don't have provisions on your radiator for that or you don't want to do it, you can tap it into your water pump. I think this one looks nice.

I'm the second owner of that Buick, I inherited it from a good family friend who was like a grandfather to me in 1995. It's nearly 100% original and was originally purchased new from Young Buick as a special order in Tucson AZ. It's not a sedan, it's an Electra 4 door hard top which I understand from Buick collectors is rare. Normally you had 4 door sedans or 2 door hardtops. This one has the wrap around rear window and no b pillars. It has a 401 and a Dynaflow transmission, power everything including 8 way power front seat. The car is a survivor, but I drive it every time I'm out there. It could use a paint job and some new seat covers, but aside from that I'm going to keep it just the way it is.

Hi, I've been following your build. I wanted to know what you did with your cooler. One of the fittings is on the left side and the plate for the motor mount sits right on it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and good work

Did you have any issues getting the electronics inline to use the 6l80E ? or was it pretty simple.

Im looking to go with that trans in my truck

Are you talking about the oil cooler for the engine? I used a plug from GM to plug the hole.

Fits like a champ under the conversion plate. IIRC you need a 17mm hex to install it. Use pipe dope, not teflon tape when installing it.

My Trans is a TR6060 6 speed manual, not an automatic.

Im about to try mounting one of these 6060 transmissions to my 69 Camaro.
My box came out of a Holden HSV Commodore ( think PontiacG8 on steroids).
I'm really interested in the transmission tunnel fitting without cutting the top out of it, you seem to gave cut only a hole for the shifter, but I see there is a couple of small holes, were these necessary ?? Or just holes cut for a previous shifter.
Im using a small block not an LS Motor.
Any other tips ???

Those other holes were fromprevious shifter setups. You can see in later pictures I patched them up. I had to massage the tunnel where it transitions from the firewall with a sledge hammer to get it to clear. None of that is visible with the carpet, center console and drivetrain installed. having grill and radiator support removed for this was helpful as I could quickly check the engine/trans for fit while I made changes and mark where I needed to add clearance. Mirrors and/or inspection cameras are handy for this as well.

So apart from the hole for the shifter you didnt have to cut any more holes ??
How much did you have to hammer the firewall to clear ??.
Got any pics of the firewall massage ?
