5.3 swap in a 55 chevy
I picked up a nice 5.3 with trans from a crashed 2007 truck , the engine had only 7,000 miles on it . every thing looks good . I hope to put this in a 55 chevy with art morrison chassie . My question is who can sell me a harness that will run this engine in my car . thanks for any help .

GM performance parts sells a wiring harness/pcm/ etc. kit that will have everything you need, but its pricey, but im assuming if you have an art morrison chassis that chang isnt an issue for you!
Painless, Holley, and a few other companies make wiring harness that are plug and play. But if you want to do it cheaper you can send in your stock harness and have somebody modify it for standalone operation. I actually redid a wring harness my self with tthe help of lt1swap.com which has great info. Good luck man
Oh and i forgot about a build thread i read before, go to google and type in "matt's tri five 5.3 swap" that guy did the same sort of swap and had a lot of good info as well. Have fun man and prepare yourself for some LS power!

Many of the vendors on this site will convert your harness for you, as well as re-flash your ECM to delete anything that is not needed and also put in a basic tune.
Is that a 4L60E or 4L80E.. ?
Are you going to be using the Truck intake or going to a OEM or Aftermarket Car intake ?
May as well put in a mild cam and with a Inake change. you should be able to get 350hp to the rear wheels !..

Being that 2007 was a crossover year, is this a 24x or 58x engine? We have a plug and play harness for both applications as well as tuned PCMs. Give us a call or PM us to discuss specifics.

LSX harness did mine. Contact them, and send in you're stock harness. They will mod it, flash computer, and return it for a very reasonable price. Comes with new fuseblock, and everything labelled. 3 wire hookup to make it run, very easy, very simple.

Good luck with the build. You can use a converted stock harness for the engine but use an American autowire kit for the rest of the car. That is what most vendors recommended when I was building my 55 sedan and it worked great.

PSI sold me a harness and it worked great. Even had to call them since I forgot to plug in the crankshaft position sensor. Walked me through where it was and car started right up. Excellent price and good quality product.
