Need some input
Me and my grandpa are wanting to redo a 64 nova/chevy 2.(if anyone knows where we can get a couple or 2 door post let me know please.) we have a 283 bored to a 307 with a pretty good cam in it. the engine was in the 64 nova we have now in the early 90s. the engine is in good shape and i can't remember for a fact but i think it ran 12s or high 11s, i think 12s though. i want to do a ls swap since the one we are looking at is a v6. we will put a a rack and pinion set up(hike, hyke idk how to spell it sorry). now what i want to know is how hard would it be to do a ls swap. i would like to make 500 to the wheels but it does need to be right now. i just want one running and driving. i can add stuff later. but what is a good base to start with and make good power now. i would like to have 400 to the wheels at least. another option is putting the 283 back in. what do you think i should do?

LQ9 or LQ4 with L92 heads and L76 intake and a cam swap. Done.
It's been done quite a few times, and I'm sure that the info is all over this site. To answer your question; No, it will not be all that difficult to make it fit in your Chevy II.....not to mention that it will have a "cool factor" that is off the scale
I say go for it!
