Coming right along. You may need to change your gear, I think 4:10s maybe to high. What size injectors are you going with? I used 60lb which is 73lbs at 58psi.

Started my swap today. Got the 454 out and got the 4.8 in the hole. Found issues, gotta slot the torque converter holes and move the frame mounts back. I need to mark the mount holes and drill them but the position of the engine looks pretty good. The truck exhaust manifold seem to be to wide at the flange, they hit the frame on each side so it looks like I'm gonna have to find some different manifols of headers. The truck accessories are woking well. Here are some pics.

I was looking at the 60# injecyors on ebay and have to save some funds. The plan is to get the engine running n/a and do the turbos when I can save some more funds.

I bought stock location mounts. But I measured from the bottom center stock mount hole to the bellhousing surface and found the LS is very close to 1.5" shorter than the BBC. I unbolted the frame mounts and bolted them to the engine and slid the whole thing back till it hit the trans. So to answer you question after too much explaination, about 1.5". I didn't mrasure thoigh. So Monday morning I have to mark the holes and then pull the motor again. I tried to buy the parts to make it drop right in. Didn't work.

Made major progress today. Got the fuel system finished, welded V-bands to the manifolds and made a down pipe to the exhaust on the left side. Moday morning I'm gonna finish the right side down pipe and fill with coolant. I primed the fuel system and fired the engine. Half turn on the starter and it fired right up and idled excellent. I let it run for about a minute then shut it dow to do the exhaust. Still need electric fans. I will take some pics Monday and post.

This is my first build and it isn't as easy as it sounds. I bought everything thinking the swap would be bolt in. Lots of fab work. I saw a Monte in Ocean City Md May show last year with LS1 and 4L60e. Love that car.

UPDATE!!!! I worked all week, got the fuel system done and got temporary exhaust hooked up till I do turbos. Finally started the engine in the car, ROD KNOCK. So upset. I called the company I bought the motor from and talked to them and they said it's probably carbon in the engine from sitting. Never heard of carbon buildup from sitting. They did say if I spray some decarb in it and the knock doesn't stop they will send me another engine. What next. I cut the manifolds and welded V-band clamps to them. When I put them in the car the left one was too close to the frame so I had to cut it back off and rewels at a different angle. On a brighter note, the engine does start and idle very nice. The check engine light is on and haven't had time to check it.

Well disaster has struck.... I decided to drive the car around the block to try and diagnose the engine noise and... wait for it... cracked the oil pan. Was trying to get the Holley pan, per advice from people on thei site, but ran out of funds so I thought I could get away with the truck pan till I can afford the Holley pan. Guess not. So now I have a busted pan and a busted engine. Think I'm gonna go back to the BBC.

I did call them and they said they would absolutly stand behind their engine. How much for the pan, and does you have the pickup and windage. Very interested.
