Ouch bro. You have forced me into looking more seriously for a better pan as well. You thinking of going CTS V or aftermarket?

Well I talked to the guy at Bow Auto Parts today and he was super helpful. Shipping out another engine, should have it by Friday. No cost to me. They really stand behind their parts. I will buy my 6.0 from them when I'm ready. Good people up there.

Suscribed !

I'm doing the same build for my 260z. My engine has to be put together though. I have ARP rod bolts, 04 LS6 cam, 799 springs, F-body oilpan, LS6 oil pump, TBSS Intake. I have my hot pipes already, they're modified mustang headers I got from another member here who had them on his turbo 6.0(LQ4) 240z. I'm also using a A1000 with -8 feed and -6 return.

I still need a t-56, 76mm turbo, harness/ecu and whole bunch of various little things.

They also called me back and said I could keep the the knocking 4.8. He said it wasn't worth the shipping to send it back just so they can scrap it. Now I will have 2 engines.

New engine should be here tomorrow, ordered CTS-v oil pan off ebay, got it with windage tray, gasket and dipstick for $179, no bolts but I'll reuse the truck pan bolts. Will be swapping engines next saturday. Fingers crossed.

I couldn't afford a Holley pan. I also started an oil pan thread here and someone else posted pics of CTS-V pan in 71 Chevelle and 71 442. Looks like it fits well.

Here are some pic of my oil pan. The epoxy is sealing the crack untill the CTS-V pan and new engine shows.

I think it either has a bad piston pin or a bad lifter. The actual engine should be fine. May need to be freshened.

I got the new engine yesterday and cleaned and painted the block. Got my CTS-V pan today, I am installing tomorrow. Gonna drill and tap the holes for the turbo returns. Trying to get this thing running by the beach.

Even though the engine is noisey, I've been working on making it run right until I get the next engine in the car. Well this morning I figured it out, I had the o2 sensors mixed up left to right. DUH! Car runs like a million dollars now.

I'm a slacker, didn't take pics, but I yanked the knocking motor. Should have the new one sitting in the hole tomorrow morning.
