please let us know how that ctsv pan fits. im using an fbody pan for now
So the truck manifolds fit but you had to cut the flange off and weld vband clamps to make fit?
Have you tried fbody manifolds?
How about fbody shorty or midlength headers?
Do you have pics of your engine mounts?
How was the tuning setup you bought?

The CTS-V pan I bought was actually an LSA pan the guy said. It fit great except for the bosses on the left side for the oil cooler in the Caddy, had to cut the lower front boss of the pan, then fit perfect. Older CTS-V pand don't have those according to the Sticky pics. I didn't try the Fbody manifolds, on a budget and didn't want to buy them, plus they probably would have fit had I put them on after the engine was in the car. I need the Vbans for the turbos anyway and I wanted to try them. The tuning is the Stock tune that was in the PCM when I got it. I just took out VATS and adjusted the idle RPM a little. There are pics of the mounts my previous post.

The guy on Ebay listed it as a CTS-V pan off an LSA crate motor the was never ran. From the looks of the pic in the oil pan sticky it is the same as the normal CTS-V pan except for the bosses on the side for the oil cooler. It is perfectly even with the crossmember. I had raised the engine up some for the truck pan to clear. The whole thing fit PERFECT!!! I will upload some pics today.

Here is an Ebay link to the one I bought.

Good news, The new 2nd engine is in the car and runs amazing. I have posted pictures of the CTS-V pan in the chassis. Unfortunatly today as I was driving the car on it's first drive more than just around the block, the freakin' trans gave up. Need a trans, anyone have one they wanna unload?

I've fixed that damn thing like 20 times(seriously, no joke). So I am going to patch it up again and start saving for t56.

Have you checked out the new keisler 5 spds? A manual trans is my next big move a t56 is cheaper but you got to cut and your not using 6th unless your over 70mph. No cut with the keisler.

Maybe it's due to low weight, but I putter around in 6'th (4.10's & 255-50-17 tires) ~40mph.

But can totally understand not wanting to cut up a classic

I drive the Vette around in 6th all the time. I did look at Keisler, I'm on their mailing list but I really can't afford a set up like that. It is amazing and I know some people that have kits from them and they all love them, I just don't have $4k to spend. Looking for some one that will sell me a fbody pullout with clutch flywheel padals, yoke and master/slave cylinder for around $1500-2000. My car is a nothing car so I don't mind cutting tunnel.

If I had the credit I would finance a Keisler, but thats out of the question. So I started to pull the 700r4, will be out by 7:30 apart by 8:30 tomorrow. Gonna patch it up and hope it lasts long enough to save for a T56. I priced a Keisler T56 Magnum and the kit for that was $5k. Damn I wish I could win the Lottery.

My suspisions were right on, I grenaded the forward sprag for the third time. However Bill and Earl's transmissions in Overlea hooked me up with a used one for free. So back together it went and I only have shift cable, exhaust and driveshaft and it will be done. Damn, I wanna T56.........

After about a week of running the car around with LS installed, I found I'm getting about 250 mi to a tank of gas. Thats double the milage I was getting with the BBC on the same trans and rear. Amazing! It obviously doesn't make the same power as the BBC, but it drives better and is much more crisp. Hopefully with the turbos I can make the same HP/Torque numbers as the BBC.

I found a lt-1 t-56 locally for $1100, and did the conversion myself for $ 620. I have well under 2k in mine, shifter and all. The conversion is simple, as long as you can use a dial indicator to set up your preload on the input shaft. Zoom zoom. Love your car, by the way!
