5.3 ls 4l60e to 84 suburban c10 custom deluxe
hi guys i would like to swap for the first time try out i want to know what year 5.3 engine and 4l60e transmission to get ..... mine is pump gas on carb i would like to run with EFI ...... do i need to swap the fuel tank or add electric pump ?? give me some advise thanks .............

Similar, but in a 4x4. Not sure how you're frame cradle will effect oil pan, but I had lots of clearence. Any year 5.3 will work, but I find the gen III stuff to be a little easier, anything from 99-04.
I would stick with EFI to get the full benefit. Insta-start, insta throttle response, insta fuel mileage gain. This would involve putting a fuel pump in somewhere, either inline or intank. I used intank. Later years of these trucks used TBI, which was an early fuel injection system. Began in 87 I believe. Use a sending unit from them, and an intank pump literally bolts on with no modifcations. You'll of course need to use high-pressure fuel line, and a corvette fuel pressure regulator/filter.
