4l60e
I posted this over on the auto tranny section but did not get any answers, so I'll try here.
I am going to look at a 4l60e out of a 2002 LS1 Camaro. How can I verify this is what the seller says it is? I tried a search but really came up with nothing. I am putting this behind 5.3 l33 from a 2006 silverado in a 1969 Nova.

Cant really verify the year..there might be a casting mark on the case or the pump..then again who says its the stock trans for that car.
You can verify it's from a F-body if the Tailshaft Housing has the Torque Arm Mounting points.
What are you using for PCM and Harness?

you will have to change out the gear position sensor on the transmission because it will have the early style (two connectors) and the 2006 L33 will have the later style with one connector.

Thanks this is great info. I'll be checking the trans out Friday or Sat. It is out of a Camaro with 32000 miles and the guy only wants $400 for it. Other than the obvious dark, smelly fluid and shavings in the pan, are there any red flags to look for?
The pedal, TAC, computer and harness will be from PSI Conversions...their vortec DBW harness.
