Default Fuel rail return / filter regulator question

Hello all

I bought several items before I bought my engine, one of them being the Corvette filter/regulator.

As it turns out, there's some kind of return off the rails on my 5.3 I got. It's the Flexfuel version, the L59.

Here is a picture of it:

So my question is, how do I hook up the fuel line and return? I know I need at least one of the quick connect AN adapters at the rail...do I need two? Does this setup mean I ditch the Corvette filter/regulator and just put in a fuel filter instead?

I have a few diagrams in a book I have about LS swaps, but they all have a single line into the rail, and no return.

I am leaving the 5.3 stock for now, but will be upgrading to a car intake/rails etc down the road. Could be a year or more though.

Thanks for your help

I believe the truck engines regulate fuel at the rails. There is no need for the corvette filter. Just use a standard inline fuel filter and plumb the return to the tank. Thats what I did and it puts out the correct pressure.

The regulator is on the rail.. thst rusty cylinder with the vacuum line is it. so ditch the vette one and then run 2 lines to the rail. you will need the 3/8 connector and a 5/16 connector.

The 3/8 line is the inlet. 5/16 is the return.

Thanks all. That's what I was thinking. I'll keep the Vette filter/regulator for when I swap intake and rails.

Thanks again

That's not a L59 fuel rail though...

Remove the return and block it off with a 5/16" piece of a Round stock. I used a bolt shoulder. Hope the pics help.
